The boys from Meldavia (Wezo & Drave) have talked and jammed with yet another notable Piedmont North Carolina area musician, Benjy Johnson. We were there to capture the chats and the music and are now pleased to share it with you.

Working should be this much fun for everyone! While the day of filming can get long and repetitious in some ways, the camaraderie, banter, informative chat and awesome live jams make it all worthwhile and very rewarding. It is an honor to be among so many truly talented and delightful creative folk.

Check out this month's episode with singer, song writer and Earthtones Recording Studio owner and technician, Benjy Johnson as he talks with the guys and they collaborate on one of Benjy's tunes "Devil In The Vinyl". Check out all the previous episodes here, if you missed any of them. Don't forget to subscribe to The Collabative's YouTube channel and see each new episode as they are released!

Talk Of Teronus with Wezo & Drave and guest the legendary Bob Margolin

A name is a name is a name...right? Well, some names are certainly more recognizable than others, it's just a fact. In the blues world our hosts Wezo & Drave's latest guest, Bob Margolin is a household word. He is nationally and internationally known and has performed with many great musicians including time spent in Muddy Waters' band. So, where does one start when chatting with an icon whose career spans many decades? At the beginning of course. You'll hear how Chuck Berry fueled Bob's love of the guitar as a young man and how the music of the legendary Muddy Waters drew him into the blues. The conversation was lively and informative but there was hardly enough time to even begin to cover such an illustrious career. Then it was time for the instruments to do the talking in a slow sultry number "Crazy About You Baby" featuring the distinctive baritone voice of Bob Margolin along with his inimitable slide guitar playing, accompanied by the Talk Of Teronus Rim Shot Band, featuring Chuck Cotton on drums, Roger Kohrs on bass, Wezo on harp and Drave on keys. Have a look! While you're at it check out the previous episode with Marcus Horth and if you want more, go to the playlist.

Talk Of Teronus Season Two Begins

Talk of Teronus with Neill Clegg

Talk of Teronus with Neill Clegg

The scene is already a bit chaotic as we enter the Mega Tone Amps Tone Lounge. It's a Sunday, a day when the lights are usually out and the array of custom made amplifiers, speaker cabinets and other electronic gadgetry all rest in silence and darkness. But, not today. Today there is a bustle of activity as music equipment, cameras, clothing, laptop computers, tripods, video and audio recording devices enter in the grasp of a growing number of people, each busy attending to their appointed roles and responsibilities preparing to shoot new episodes of the Talk Of Teronus. Sounds like a well oiled machine right? Well... you don't know the hosts, Wezo & Drave and the rest of this crew very well then. Libations are already circulating, jokes and one-liners are being slung faster than anyone can keep up with them and in the midst of the madness there is the now customary question "Now, what did we say we were going to do last time we talked?". The next sound you hear is the oil can being kicked out into the hallway. Here's a few behind the scenes photos...

Actually, it is the chaos and fly-by-the-seat-of-the-pants atmosphere that makes producing the Talk Of Teronus so much fun. Lord knows it's not fame or fortune. Still, it's hard to imagine having a better time, with any better bunch of talented, funny and just down right good people than when we get together to film the T.O.T. show segments. We are proud to be collaborating on this project and happy to see it begin season two. Here's show # 1 with guest Neil Clegg. Hope you enjoy!

Talk of Teronus, The 1st Super Jam, & Our Video-Recording Ironies

We could have hardly imagined that video recording would become a significant part of what we do as part of The Collabative. Why? you may ask. Well... having now produced roughly 24 shows over the last 2 1/2 years, video recording them and getting results that we can be proud of, or even "settle for", remains a major challenge. It's just not something we've excelled at, where live events are concerned.

So, when we got the invite from Wezo and Drave to produce their show "The Talk Of Teronus" there was, as you might imagine,  a momentary hesitation. Even reluctance. What tipped us in favor of going ahead is not easily recalled, (though you can be sure it had something to do with the laid-back attitude of the show's hosts and the fact that they not only interview guests who are spectacular musicians, but these folks are nice, too!) Still, suffice it to say that the decision was a good one and the experience has been positive all the way around.

Season One is in the books and Season Two will officially begin September 1, 2014. In the meantime the guys - Wezo and Drave - brought some of their mega-talented musician friends together for what they are calling a "super jam" and we thought we'd let you have a look.
