Aubrey Shamel was an obvious choice for my first interview. She is, to me, the epitome of the kind of artist this series is about. As a singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist, this talented young woman is turning a lot of heads. The video below is the first installment in a 3-part video series in which I interviewed Aubrey. Here she shares insights about becoming a musician and the important role her parents play in this phase of her career.
Though the road ahead for Aubrey will be defined by her passion, drive, determination, choices... and luck, today she is on her way UP. There is a wave of momentum building around this artist, and the right kinds of people are getting behind her with support, encouragement and helping to spreading the word. This is the catalyst that every budding singer/songwriter lives for and is such a vital part of the foundation of a solid music career. Amazingly, at the ripe old age of 17, Aubrey is beautifully poised, confident, with a maturity and sense of purpose that must make her parents proud and will no doubt serve her well in her pursuit of her dreams.
In segment 2, Aubrey shares some of her thoughts about what is the most favorite part about what is going on now in her career and what she sees for the future. And in the final segment, Aubrey sheds a little light on a somewhat unknown aspect of her approach to songwriting and talks about an upcoming performance in the Triad area. I also get her to share the exciting news that she is heading back to Nashville to co-write with some pro songwriters, within days of our interview.
I will let the rest of the info you find here speak for itself. You be the judge. If you do enjoy Aubrey, please support her. And maybe let her know you found out about her here? Thanks!
At the end of our interview, Aubrey told us she's looking forward to playing at the Sunset Musical Flight at RayLen Vineyards and Winery on August 10. Since that segment will be going up days from now, I wanted to go ahead and mention it here, so you'll have a chance to check it out. Click here for more details.
