I guess I don't need to tell you my name. By now you have seen it enough to know. I
will give the highlights of my life in as brief a narrative as possible.
I was born in Boothbay Harbor, Maine on July 14, 1955. But Maine was not to be my
home for long. By my 4th  birthday, my Mother, her new husband and I were living in
the Bahama Islands where my Stepfather had found work. I spent my childhood
there, right up to the middle of my junior year in high school. The Bahamas at that
time (1971) was in turmoil and fighting for independence from England. So, my folks
decided it was not the best place for us to be.
The family ended up living in Stuart, Fla., where I graduated from Martin County High
School in 1973. I lived there for 2 more years, working during the day and playing in
my first real  "professional" band at 17. But, Florida held little in the way of
opportunity to me, so I was on the move again.
Following a girlfriend, I moved to the big city of Atlanta, Georgia during the summer
of 1976. I quickly settled in to working and set out finding a band to join. With some
experience under my belt playing the popular songs of the day, I was interested in
writing and performing my own songs. It was during those latter years of the 70's that
I began writing . I was fortunate enough to have worked with two different bands that
liked my songs enough to play them.
My music career, if you can call it that, has seen me drift in and out of playing, when
the day job that paid the bills would  become necessary. As the 80's progressed I
spent several years working hard at finding my place in the 9-5 world, with little
success, I might add. So, it was back to performing. I spent the years from 1984
through 1989 working in a duo with a wonderful woman by the name of Susan
Thomas and though we played cover songs, she helped me get back to song writing
and helped me hone my skills with honest feedback. I entered the Atlanta
Songwriters Festival 3 years running during that time and received 2 honorable
mentions and a 3rd place finalist award.
God bless the broken road........as the song goes, and mine has surely been one.
Through another stint in the corporate world, I ended up in Gaffney, South Carolina
working for the Sara Lee Corp. Well, Sara and I didn't get along very well and we
had to part ways. I was able to say goodbye thanks to a gentleman I had befriended
while at Sara Lee who owned a printing company in Greensboro, North Carolina. He
offered me a job and I arrived here in May of 1994.
I have worked the day jobs steadily since then. I became a Father of a terrific
daughter in 1998. She is a bright light in my life. Even though my life has become
more full, I have managed to keep performing both as a solo and with a band called
Windfall here in the Triad area. And now, after so many years, I have reached the
goal once so elusive, my own music on my own CD.
Okay, I am tired of typing, so you MUST be tired of reading by now.
